Melissa Diane Collins

Melissa Diane Collins affectionately known as Dy was born in June 5, 1967 to the parents of Josephine and Manuel Collins. Her father preceded her in death. 

Melissa received her education in the Chicago Public Schools Systems graduating from Percy Julian High School. 

Melissa loved to sing and had a beautiful voice. Melissa embraced life and the people around her with the most beautiful, brightest smile. Melissa loved life and lived it to its fullest. Cooking was one of her favorite things to do. Experimenting and perfecting various recipes. Melissa was loved by all who crossed her path. She left a lasting impression and impact on everyone. Melissa made a decision to confess her life to Christ at a early age and with that, she honed in on her ability to call on the name of the Lord with conviction and sincerity. Not only for herself but anyone who desired and whom she knew needed to be covered in the Holy Spirit. She was the prayer warrior amongst her friends and colleagues and was responsible for leading souls to Christ without that being her purpose. Melissa was a very pleasant person to know. 

Melissa worked most of her life and held many different positions. She was held in high regard by all her employers. Melissa’s longest stint was working at The Home Depot Store 1912 for 16 years. Out of that, Melissa inherited a whole new family. 

 Melissa transitioned on Wednesday July 29, 2020.

Melissa leaves to cherish her memory, civil partner, Renee Webb, Mother Josephine Collins, 4 Brothers; Lenell Collins, Norman Collins (Nita), Curtis Collins (Carmalinda), Michael Collins (Tamicko), 3 sisters; Rochelle Lee, Valerie and Lydia. 

Two special Goddaughters, Michelle and Monnashay.

A very special life partner, Joann Simon who was there to provide Melissa with the support, care and love she needed until the very end.
