Michelle Lynn Mackins was born in Joliet, Illinois, on November 28, 1983, to Herbert Mackins and Gina Wilson. She attended Joliet West High School, where she was actively involved in both ROTC and Chorus. Michelle was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, sharing her passion for music. For many years, she worked as a compassionate caregiver with Help at Home, dedicating herself to helping others until her untimely passing.
Michelle's vibrant energy and love for singing and dancing lit up every room she entered. She had a beautiful spirit and a generous heart, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Above all, Michelle was a devoted and loving mother to her two children, a cherished daughter, and beloved sister.
Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Mackins; her paternal grandparents, Cecil and Carrie Mackins; uncles, Cecil Mackins Jr. and Robert Mackins; aunties, Emma Tucker and Florence Roddy; as well as her maternal grandparents, Willie and Minnie Wilson, and uncles, Michael Wilson and Willie T. Wilson Jr.
She leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories with her loving mother, Gina Wilson; her beloved children, Ta'Niyah Jackson and Terry Jackson Jr.; five brothers, Michael Mackins, Calvin Griffin Jr.(Ronisha), Herbert Mackins Jr., Jermaine Spearman, and Jamel Bryant; four sisters, Jessica Griffin, Caprishyanna Mackins, Tina Anderson, and Aleshia Spearman; and her lifetime partner, Terry Jackson.
Michelle is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends, all of whom will carry her spirit in their hearts.
