Miller Edward Taylor was born on July 31, 1943, in Walker County, Alabama, to the late Earlie Taylor and Annie Grace. He was one of ten siblings, raised in a large and loving family that shaped his strong values and deep sense of connection to others.
At an early age, Miller accepted Christ, establishing a foundation of faith that remained with him throughout his life. In 1966, he united in marriage with the love of his life, Vera Pearl Taylor. In 1968, he relocated from Birmingham, Alabama, to Lockport, Illinois, and later made his home in Joliet, Illinois.
Miller was a dedicated and hardworking man. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment, strength, and dedication. He was employed at the Steel Mill in Joliet, Illinois, and was also a graduate of Drug Corp. Outside of work, he found joy in simple pleasures—playing bingo, attending church, and spending meaningful time with family and friends. His presence brought warmth, laughter, and love to those around him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Vera Pearl Taylor; his parents, Earlie Taylor and Annie Grace; his brother, James Edward Beard Jr; his sister, Valorie Studimire; and his special nephew, Jerome Abbott.
Miller leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Angela (Michele) Beard-Taylor; a special niece he helped raise, Felecia (Jerome) Hall; and his cherished grandchildren, Kadedra, Kordell, Kamorion, Kanaysha, and Tyrik. He is also survived by his siblings: Roderick Beard; Barbra Speights (Eldridge), Joanne Womack (James), Linda Peoples, Debra Beard, Juliette Beard-Abrams (Jimmie), Lucrecia Girley, and sister-in-law, Mary Hughes (Roosevelt) of Lockport, Illinois, and his devoted best friend, Roger Gates (Lynette), along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Miller Edward Taylor was a man deeply loved by many. His legacy of faith, family, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
