Nancy Jackson Obituary

Nancy Hunt Jackson was born in Chicago, Illinois to Tommie Lee Hunt and Olevery Douglas on December 15, 1962. She attended school at Proviso East in Maywood, Illinois where she received her high school diploma and later graduated from Olympia College with her medical and billing certificate. Nursing was her passion.

Nancy met William Jackson in 1985 and later married on April 14, 1986. To this union, Olevery, Olethea and Corion were born. She shared a deep and meaningful bond with her beloved husband, built on love, respect, and unwavering support. Together, they created a life rooted in faith, family and commitment. Their partnership was a true example of devotion, and the love they shared was evident to all who knew them. He was not only her husband, but her companion, her strength and her closest friend.

Nancy was a devoted wife to her husband, loving mother to her children and a compassionate grandmother to her 19 grandchildren. She embodied the spirit of kindness and compassion to everyone. Nancy loved to go out to eat at different restaurants, gardening, capturing pictures and loved family. She was known for her gentle demeanor and her loving heart.

Nancy grandchildren meant the world to her. To them, she was more than a grandmother- she was a second mother, a guiding light and a constant source of unconditional love. Nancy nurtured them with wisdom, patience, and warmth, always making sure they felt seen, heard and supported. Her home and her heart were always open and the bond she shared with each of them was truly special. Her love will continue to live on in their hearts, shaping their lives in the same gentle, steady way she always did.

Nancy worked at Bolingbrook Hospital as a dietary aid where she retired in 2025. Nancy carried the same warmth and generosity that defined her life. She had a natural gift for connecting with people, making everyone feel valued and cared for. She approached each day with dedication and a genuine heart, building lasting relationships with those she worked alongside and served.

Nancy became a devoted member of Victory Cathedral Worship Center in 2005, where her faith journey continued to grow. In 2006, she gave her life to Christ, a decision that became the foundation of her strength and the way she lived and loved others. She began her service faithfully on the Usher Board, warmly welcoming all who entered, and later continued her commitment through her work on the Finance Committee. She served her church with humility, dedication, and a joyful spirit, leaving a lasting impact on her church family.
