Norman Perry Obituary

Norman Perry, Sr. was born June 21, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Charles and Alice Perry. He was the third son of seven siblings.

Norman attended Chicago Public Schools and also attended Wendell Phillips High School.  He worked for the Chicago Park District, Stockyard and West Veteran Hines Hospital.  After he was drafted in the military and fought in the Korean War, he returned to work back at the Veteran Hines Hospital for 30 years until he retired.

Perry was united in Holy Matrimony on June 21, 1987 to Etta Larkins Perry.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 31 years, Etta Larkins Perry; one son, Wayne Perry; two grandchildren, Steven Mitchem and Darius Perry; two brothers, Mack, Charlie Sr. and Fred Perry; one sister, Margaret Hines.

He departed this life on Saturday, December 19, 2020 in Chicago, Illinois.

Norman leaves to cherish his memories; six children, Louise (Billy), Steve (Angela), Frances (Zack), Anthony (Charlene), Arlene and Norma; sisters, Bertha Bell of Chicago, IL and Carolyn Ford of St. Louis; one sister-in-law, Alice Larkins of Chicago, IL; three brothers-in-law, Cecil Larkins, Frank Larkins and Nathan Craighead; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
