Patricia Green, (a.k.a., Trisha, Patty G., Mama Pat, and Greenie) was born December 25, 1951 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to Alberta Edmonds and John Trapp. She returned home to glory on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the age of 69 with family by her side.
She accepted Christ at a young age in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and was a member of Mt. Calvary Church of God in Christ where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Upon moving to Chicago, Illinois to be close to her sister, she joined St. James Ministries Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop Willie James Campbell where she served faithfully. She later joined True Holiness Church of God in Christ in Harvey, Illinois under the leadership of the late Pastor James C. Harris, Sr. Patricia currently was a member of Redeem Church of God in Christ, serving under Supt. Eugene Fears, Jr.
Patricia began her working career in Chicago, Illinois at Sears Roebuck & Company and worked in the Sears Tower. She later was employed with
Metra Railroad as a Chief Operations Clerk for the Rock Island District and retired December 19, 2016 after 27 years of dedicated service.
Patricia enjoyed watching black and white films, gardening and sewing. She was a woman of great organizational skills. She had a heart for young women and set her passion on ensuring they were accomplished.
Woman of God, wonderful mother, loving sister, grandmother, aunt and ever so devoted friend to so many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her treasured sister, Evangelist Johnnie Ann Rogers.
Patricia was the loving mother to her son, Steven J. Green; beloved sister to Walter J. (Marilyn) Green and Pastor David (Verna) Green; cherished grandson, Everett C. Lamberson, affectionately known as “Peanut.” She was a dearly devoted aunt to her two close nephews, Minister Arttie (Yvette) Harmon and Deacon Macy R. Harmon. Patricia’s memory is celebrated by many other family members and cherished friends.
Her caring nature will live on in the life of her family and friends.
