Patricia A. Hargrave

Patricia Ann Hargrave was born on December 31, 1946 to the union of James Edwards and Anna Bell Edwards of which eight children were born.  Patricia was the sixth child of this union.  Patricia was preceded in death by both parents and her beloved husband, Donald and three of her five sisters; Velma, Dolly and Geraldine and her two brothers, James and Larry.  Patricia attended Westcott High School, now known as Paul Robeson High School in Chicago, Illinois.  Patricia Ann was quite the story teller and a mother to everyone.  Everyone called her "Mama Pat." She was favored by all of the local vendors in Bolingbrook and if you ever came across Mama Pat, you were more than likely to get a great story that involved chiffon, platinum, blond hair or mother or something she remembered when it was sunny outside.  Our mother was a writer and a woman of many stories of encouragement for everyone she came in contact with.  Patricia wrote poems to friends and family and she called them PAEGH.  They were personally written and designed by Mama Pat.

Patricia accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist Church and migrated to Bolingbrook, Illinois where she attended Triumph Community Church where she remained until her eldest son, Dr. Apostle George Guilford founded Ultimate Faith Christian Center in 2006.  She remained there until she was called home on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

Patricia met and married the love of her life, Donald H. Hargrave.  They were wed December 31, 1985 and enjoyed twenty-nine and a half years of marriage.

Patricia put in thirty years at the United States Post Office and over the years, she made many close friends, Babes and Loretta whom she loved dearly.

Patricia leaves to mourn her six children; George (Charlotte)), Boyse (Felicia), Randall, Iris, Lance (Danielle), Swantice (Frank); honorary son, Azia Martin, Sr.; two sisters, Annie Joe Echols and Susie Holmes; sisters-in-law, Joicelyn Edwards, Regina Bradford, Brenda Alexander, Madeline Chapman, Veda Collins, Wanda Hargrave, Mary Starks (William), Cassandra, Veda Collins and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and twenty-three grandchildren; Marcel, Justin, Joshua, Geoffrey, Anthony, Chayah, Neiman, Brandon, Brenden, Zachary, Brenton, Xavier, Azaria, Azia Jr., Kristopher, Rayshawn, Diamond, Savannah, Kristian, Deanna, Faith, Chianne and Sierra.
