Living this life to live again, on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, Patricia Vann answered the call of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, acknowledging the end of her earthly journey and accepting the will of God, knowing that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.”
Patricia Vann, affectionately known as “Pat,” was born on September 21, 1957, in Joliet, Illinois. She was the third eldest of six children born to the union of her late father, Druel Parker Sr., and her mother, Emma Parker.
Pat was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. She graduated from Joliet East High School, Class of 1975, and continued her education at South Suburban College, where she earned her Coding Specialist Certificate.
Patricia was married to Willie Vann Sr., and from this union she was blessed to be called mother by her two sons, Willie Vann Jr. (Tiffany) and Clifford Vann Sr. (Kisha). Pat’s pride and joy was her only daughter, Danielle Vann-Thomas (Tavares). Pat found great joy in caring for and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She seized every opportunity to guide and correct with love and her firm yet loving “Patricia Ann Commands.”
Pat was dedicated to her church home, Redeem Enrichment Ministries, and deeply adored her church family. She was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at Redeem Church of God in Christ, located at 410 Clay Street, Joliet, Illinois, under the pastorate of Bishop Eugene Fears Jr. She served faithfully in ministry on the Usher Board and Sunshine Band and ministered with love wherever she was needed. Pat remained faithful and impacted many lives through her true, authentic self, blessing all whom God allowed to cross her path until her final call to glory.
Patricia Ann Vann was preceded in death by her father, Druel Parker Sr.; her sister, Mother LeJoyce Parker; and her sister-friend, Deborah Sims. She leaves to honor her memory and carry on her legacy her children: Willie Vann Jr. (Tiffany), Clifford Vann Sr. (Kisha), and Danielle Vann-Thomas (Tavares), all of Joliet, Illinois; three brothers and three sisters: Elder Rodney Parker Sr. (Phyllis), Mother Deboraha Parker, Darlene May (late Joshua), Deacon Druel Parker Jr, Allen Parker (Maggie) and Druella Parker.
She also leaves a legacy of twelve grandchildren: Joseph, Taylor, De’Anna, Malik, Daniel, Sophia, Samuel, Clifford Jr., Precious, Calen, Amber, Marquez, and Isaiah; three great-grandchildren: Hendrix, Veda, and Marley; four godchildren: Rodney B. Parker, Terrance May, Aisha Parker, and Maurice Fears Jr.; and hundreds of nieces and nephews who all lovingly knew her as “Aunt Pat.”
Pat loved deeply and held a special place in her heart for Kay Newman, Patricia Johnson, Terri Coleman, Mother Deborah Fears, Mother Maxine Flemmings, Mother Gustavia Jenkins, Deacon Howard Wright, and Michelle Vansetten. Pat’s love and reach were enormous, so much so that we cannot name everyone. You yourself know and cherish the bond she shared with you. Hold it close and draw strength from it in the moments when you need it most.
Pat’s love, laughter, and long talks will be greatly missed, and her memories will be forever treasured in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
