Patrick Betts Sr., beloved father, brother, and friend, was born in West Helena, Arkansas, to the late Otis Betts Jr and Luvenia Milton Betts. He transitioned from this life to eternal rest surrounded by love and family.
Patrick moved to Chicago at an early age, where he would spend most of his life. Known for his outgoing personality and warm heart, Patrick had a deep love for the church and accepted Christ at an early age. A faithful viewer of Bishop Arthur M. Brazier, Patrick found great joy and strength in his spiritual walk.
In 1990, Patrick married Sharon Williams. Though their union later ended, it was blessed with beautiful children who were the pride and joy of his life.
Patrick was a lover of blues music and could often be found enjoying the sounds of his cherished record player. He also had a special love for classic Westerns, especially his favorite show, Gunsmoke.
A hardworking man, Patrick held several jobs over the years, including time at Zenith and the Tootsie Roll Factory. Gifted with his hands, he had a knack for fixing cars and was always willing to lend a hand when something needed repair.
Patrick was preceded in death by his father, Otis Betts Jr., his mother, Luvenia Milton Betts, and his brothers, Waymon Betts, Clarence Betts, Chester Lee Robinson, and Zoule Betts.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Bobby Barnes, Patrice Betts, Donte Brooks, Luvenia Betts, La’Keisha Betts, and Patrick Betts Jr.; his sisters, Jerlene Betts Garnett and Brenda Betts Berry; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
