Pearl V. Horde Jr., affectionately known as Junior was born July 19, 1956 in Pulaski, Mississippi to parents, father, Pearl V. Horde Sr. and mother, Johnnie B. Williams. Junior was raised by his uncle and aunt, Major and Annie Mae (Horde) Epting. Siblings, Percy; sister, Kathleen Louise,Rosie, C.J., Artie Bell, Attie, Eddie Major, Mary and Lillie.
Junior was a veteran of the United States Army and received an honorable discharge. Junior had two children; son, Macia (Sabrina) Horde of Crest Hill, IL and daughter, Kori Reardon of Joliet, IL.
Junior was a man of many talents and passions. He held various jobs, but his true joy was found in working on cards and spending time with his family. He especially loved fishing, a hobby he shared with his loved ones.
Junior leaves behind his devoted and beloved wife, Katherine McAfee, his companion and caregiver. Junior's final wish for Katherine was to stay by his side and she lovingly honored that request until his last breath.
Junior was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and daughter, Kori.
He passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Illinois.
Junior is survived by his loving wife, Katherine; son, Macio (Sabrina) Horde; grandchildren, Adrian Bolognani, Dominic Sterr, Isaiah Horde, Xavier Horde, Jada Horde, Arielle Horde, Mark Lee, Terrence Lee, Brandon Lee, Mariah Lee; great grandchildren; sister, Lillie Epting of Joliet, IL; extended family, Michelle McAfee, Charles McAfee, Jamari McAfee, Jerome Abbott, Trichelle McAfee and Riley McAfee; nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
