Princess Lee Johnson of Joliet, Illinois, affectionately known as “Tulu”, was born on January 4, 1959, in Chicago, Illinois to the parents of William Johnson and Celia Ruth Hinton.
She departed this life suddenly on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the age of 66.
Princess accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at an early age and was a member of Perfecting Worship Center of Joliet, IL under the leadership of her cousin, Senior Pastor Tyrone Hinton Sr.
Princess attended Lockport Public Schools in Lockport, Illinois.
Known for her enormous heart and listening ear to many, loud but meek personality, never loss for words, whether it was knowledgeable or comical, it was all in love. Princess dedicated her life helping who ever needed it. She leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will continue to inspire those who knew her.
On Saturday August 2, 2025, Princess was called from labor to reward as she peacefully slipped away. She was preceded in death by her mother Celia Ruth Berry, father William Johnson, husband; Roy Washington, brother; Claude Hinton, sister; Barbara Ann Barrett, nephew; Wille James Terry, maternal and paternal grandparents.
To embrace precious memories, Princess leaves step father; Elbert “Bill” Berry of Marion Alabama, stepsons; Marcus Washington, Dominique Washington, stepdaughter; Tara Morrow, her siblings, sisters; Delilah Hinton of Marion Alabama, Katrice Vantrice, brother Johnny Lee (Sandra) Johnson of Joliet, Illinois, Godmother; Rose Sweeney, God Sister; Irene Smith, God Children; Derronta Barefield, Sheonta Barefield; Special Nephew; Jermaine Johnson, Niece; LaVette Johnson, Johnnetta Bynum, Special Cousins; Oashia Hinton, Luther Anderson, best friends; Joyce Barefield, Pamela Tyler, Diane Reed. Including a host of precious nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Although she has departed this earthly life, the love she gave and the life she lived will never be forgotten.
