Memory of Raymond Howard Miller Sr.
Raymond Howard Miller Sr. was born on August 20,1956 to the union of Eugene Sr. and Delores Miller. Raymond accepted Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. He redirected his his faith in April 2017 to The Church of Joliet lead by Pastor Edward (Ted) Winfrey, where he remained a faithful member until his passing.
Raymond attended and graduated from Christian Fenger High School in Chicago in June 1974. He briefly attended ITT Technical Institute in Chicago. Afterwords he worked several jobs and at the urging of his younger sister (Anita) In 1978 he started a career for the Illinois Department of Corrections at Joliet Correctional Center. Raymond worked his way up through the ranks to Lieutenant K6-23. He was truly loved and respected by all of his co-workers, subordinates and supervisors.
In August 1980 he married Lorez Parker (Ramsey) and to that union they had 4 children. Hamesha Parker, Rayalna Parker, Raymond H. Miller Jr, and Valencia Poe.
In June of 2010 he remarried Sheena Crump and to that union the added a blended family of 3 more girls. Dazerie Woods, Shenoa Simmons and Shenea Best.
After 32 years of dedicated service to IDOC, in August 2010 he retired. But Raymond could not sit still for long. After retirement he joined the security team at Joliet Township West High School, until his health started to fail him in 2016. He loved working at the school and, his co-workers and the kids adored him. He always greeted everyone with a big smile, a nick name for everyone and a very hard hand slap. He truly had a heart of gold.

 Raymond made his transition on Saturday November 14, 2020. He is proceeded in Death by his loving parents Eugene Sr and Delores Miller. His Baby sister Dannita Edwards (Kitten) and his beloved daughter Rayalna Parker (Ray-Ray)
Raymond leaves to cherish his wonderful memories his Loving wife Sheena Miller and their 6 children: Hamesha Parker, Raymond Miller Jr. Valencia Poe, Dazerie Woods, Shenoa (Markus) Simmons, Shenea Best, their 11 beautiful Grand children: William, Christofer, Destry, Kaleb, Dacari, Hadiya, Daniya, Janiya, Alyse, Shermar and , Alayna.
His 5 siblings: Theresa Clay, Glenn (Sung) Miller, Diana (Demetrius) Miller, Eugene (Mary) Miller and Anita (Rodney Sr.) Baker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and,

To Love him was to cherish him. Raymondve known him was to Love him. To Love him was to cherish him. Raymond was truly a wonderful man who will be truly missed
