Richard Thomas Green

Richard Thomas Green, affectionately known as “Ricky” was born September 4, 1965 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, Illinois to Odis Travis and Minnie M. Green.  He gained his wings on Monday, December 27, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Ricky attended Joliet public schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School on May 27, 1983.

He was employed by the State of Tennessee in the maintenance department for several years.

Ricky is preceded in death by his mother, Minnie M. Green (2000) and father, Odis Travis (2005); maternal grandparents, Gillie Green and Hattie M. Green; paternal grandparents, Curtis Travis and Roselee Travis; one brother, Lee Otis Travis.

He is survived by his only son, Decies Manual “DC” Green of Norcross, GA; one nephew, Deon Travis of California; one niece, Latasha Travis of Las Vegas, NV.  Richard is also survived by two uncles, Charles (Della) Travis of Lockport, IL and Joe (Joyce) Travis of Joliet, IL; two aunts, Offie Walton and Jeanette Green, both of Joliet, IL; special cousins, Mrs. Betty Sue McNair; Janice Posey, Herman (Melissa) Travis, Rachael Edwards, Kenny Travis, Janet Moton, Montrice (Nakia) Morrow; cousin/brother, Marvin Green, Lalesha Shawn Bailey, Cheyenne Youngblood; sister/cousin, Patsy Morrow, Cheneka Hill and Wash Morrow; his friends, Charles and Ferlindia Pruitt of Decatur, IL and Donae Gillespie of Joliet, IL and a host of other relatives and friends.
