Robert B. Gholston, Jr., also known as Spice/Junie, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025, at the age of 48. He was born on February 24, 1977, to Robert and Annie Gholston in Joliet, IL. He accepted Christ early in life.
Robert was educated in the Joliet Public School System. He worked for various companies as a forklift driver. He became a welder in July 2013 and landed his dream job as a roofer in 2018 with the United Union of Roofers Local #11. Robert was dedicated to developing affordable housing. He greatly enjoyed home rehabilitation projects and cherished spending quality time with his loved ones. His most heartfelt wish was for his children to maintain strong relationships and enjoy each other’s company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Gholston, Sr., and his sister, Theresa Michelle Merrill.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Tangela Williams Gholston; seven loving children and one stepson: Lonserea Gholston, Robert Gholston III, Nasjee Haynes, all of IL; Jalin (Kanicia) Winfield of OH; Ariel Williams, Skylar Gholston, Courtney Williams, and Alaya Williams, all of IL; seven grandchildren; three sisters: Cynthia D’Hustler, Glenda (Earl) Corbett of IL, and Candy Gholston of AZ; one brother, Robert (Yolanda) Parker of IL; special brothers: Willie Tanzy Jr., Sherron Reed, and Corey Williams; as well as numerous special nieces, nephews, cousins, extended relatives, and close friends.
