Robert Roosevelt Brown, affectionately known as Larry, was born June 23, 1951 into the union of Emma Gene Brown-Crosby and Lonzo Crosby in Hattiesburg Mississippi. Robert departed this life on May 26, 2021.
Robert accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted and faithful member of Hope For All Church of God in Joliet, IL. Robert was very handy and wanted to help anyone in need. He would often spend time visiting the elderly and talking to his loved ones. He didn’t meet a stranger and everyone loved Larry.
Robert was a hard worker. He was a union operating engineer for the Joliet Housing Authority for many years and retired from the Local Union 399. He also worked many different side jobs throughout his career and into retirement. Most recently, Robert was a volunteer paper delivery man for the residential community where he lived.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Lonzo Crosby, his sisters; Mary Burd, Mary Joyce Grissom, and Adda Crosby, and his brothers; Lonnie Crosby, James Crosby, and Anthony Crosby.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Bessie Brown, his daughter, Ericka Sullivan, his step children and grandchildren, his sisters; Lovell Eison, Janet Travis, Jean Whitfield, and three brothers; Willie Crosby, Sylvester (Margret) Crosby, Lynn (Darlene) Crosby, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
