Rosalyn Lynn (nee Sims) Lewis was born on July 22, 1966 to Deacon Lonnie Marvin Sims, Sr. and Pastor Ethel Pearl (nee Clerk) Sims in Joliet, Illinois. She was born the seventh child.
Rosalyn attended Edna Keith, Ridgewood Baptist Academy, and Laraway Elementary. She also went to Joliet East H.S. but graduated from Joliet Central H.S. and was proud to be a Steelmen.
Rosalyn accepted Christ at an early age and continued her walk with the Lord as a member of Power House Deliverance Center under the leadership of her late mother, Pastor Ethel Pearl Sims. She later rejoined All Nations Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Robert R. Sanders. In 2017, Rosalyn joined the River of Life Outreach Ministries under the leadership of Shepherdess Cina McGee.
Early in life, Rosalyn married Dion R. Clark in which two children were born from this union: Belinda Clark and Kimberly Clark. She later married Michael W. Lewis where they formed a beautiful blended family.
Roslayn departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, August 25, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents; Deacon Lonnie Marvin Sims, Sr. and Pastor Ethel Pearl Sims; brothers, Rickey, Lonnie, Jr. and Dennis Sims; nephew, Matthew Sims; father and mother-in-law, Freddie and Rose Lewis; brother-in-law, Pastor Roy Washington.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 21 years, Michael Lewis, her three daughters; Tayaneka Lewis, Belinda Clark and Kimberly Clark; seven grandchildren; Kia, Andre, Ayanna, Koby, Kendrick, Aniyah & Alayah; three sisters, Demetria Sims, Julie Sims-Hatten (Jeffery) and Daphney Sims-Washington; one brother; Vincent Sims (Stephanie); three brothers-in law, Milton “Ray” Barnes, Jerome Lewis, Mark (Daphne) Lewis; four best friends, Deborah Riddle, Stephanie Sims, Davita Doss and Marilyn Huff; two great aunts; Mother Artis Thompson and Ester Hill.
The size of Rosalyn’s family and friends is so vast that we aren’t able to acknowledge each one as she was loved by so many.
