Roy Charles Hester Jr.

Roy Charles Hester, Jr. “Ricky” was born October 7, 1961 to Roy Hester Sr. and Loretta Batex Knox.

Roy was called home on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, surrounded by family with lots of love.

Ricky attended Lockport East High School in Lockport, Illinois.  He accepted Christ at an early age in life and enjoyed visiting different churches.  Ricky enjoyed being with family, fishing, swimming, watching National Geographic, and most of all, visiting his mother.

Ricky is preceded in death by his father, Roy Charles Hester Sr.; grandparents, Allie and Otha Bates, Ethel B., and Charlie Hester; two brothers, Ronald Hester and Michael Hester Sr.; one sister, Tasha Gatson; one great-granddaughter, Marylynn Wesley; one nephew, Antwon Hester; and one stepson, Martez Morrow.

Ricky leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Rosemary Hester; a special devoted daughter, Theresa (Richard) Gant; Andrea Hester and Brittany Hester, all of Joliet, IL; three stepdaughters, TaChara Duncan, Jasmine Morrow, and Jamaeca Morrow; one step-son, Andrew Morrow; one brother, Steven (Shelly) Hester; five sisters, Sheila Hester, Kathie (Leonard) Glower, Renne (Willous) Miller, all of Joliet, IL; Pamela (Thomas) Tyler of Plainfield, IL; and Angela Hester of Lithonia, GA; eight grandchildren, Anthony, Kandyce, Darius, Ric’keya, Kaylie, Caliyah, Cali and Masiah; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
