Royce Edward Chandler was born on June 3, 1956, to Reverend Leroy and Yvonne Chandler, the fifth of their ten children. At a young age, Royce accepted Christ. He attended Joliet West High School, where he took great pride in being part of the wrestling team.
For 23 dedicated years, Royce worked at ComEd until his health began to decline. A true family man, he loved spending time with his loved ones, whether fishing or visiting them near and far. It was rare to find him sitting down, as he always enjoyed being active and engaged with his family.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Reverend Leroy and Yvonne Chandler; three sisters, Rebecca Harris, Valencia Brown, and Lolitha Chandler; one brother, Dewayne Chandler; and paternal grandparents, Reverend Richard and Ethel Chandler.
He leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories with his loving wife of 44 years, Rose Malbrew Chandler; one son, Royce Chandler Jr.; two daughters, Denae Lucky and Angela Bianca Chandler, all of Joliet; a bonus daughter, Danielle Williams; three granddaughters, Ariana Laster, Dejah Chandler Deal, and Journie Dorsey; and one grandson, Leonard Stokes Jr.
Royce is also survived by three sisters, Zaneta (Bradley) Watts, Civie (Morris) Dunnigan of Joliet, and Raemonda Chandler of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, Leroy (Juliet) Chandler and Vincent (Latasha) Chandler of Joliet; Aunt Gertrude Chandler of Joliet; favorite cousin, Vivian Jones of Bartlett, TN and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly. His bonus family, the Malbrews, will miss him as well. Special appreciation goes to Royce's nephew, Jimmie Chandler, and cousins, Debra Morrow, Austin Page, and Sandra Chandler Dillard for their unwavering support. The family would also like to express their gratitude to the Vitas Hospice Healthcare team for their compassionate care during Royce's final days.
