Ryburn “Wildog” Warren
Ryburn Jay Warren passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home.
He was the beloved son of Margaret M. Warren and Augustine Banks. A proud graduate of Joliet Central High School, Ryburn went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Navy.
After his military service, he dedicated his career to the Joliet Youth Detention Center, retiring as a Y-2 Supervisor. He was respected by colleagues for his leadership, dedication, and steady presence.
Ryburn was well known in the community for his love of fast cars, motorcycles, and his remarkable talent as a mechanic. He had a special bond with his dog, Bolt often carrying him more than letting him walk and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a friendly conversation in his garage.
He is survived by his children, Roderick Warren of Chicago, IL, Angela Walls of Florida, and Kevin Mackins of Newport, TN; his brothers, Gregory Warren (Tamara) of Joliet, IL, Jeffery Warren (Marietta) of Joliet, IL, Ronnell Banks of Aurora, IL, and Vincent Banks of Atlanta, GA; his sisters, Doreen Martin of Joliet, IL, and Nina Buchanan of Joliet, IL; a host of nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends, Lance Scott and David Coble.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Augustine Banks, and Margaret M. and Curtis Warren; his sisters, Janet Elaine Carradine, Valeria Banks, and Constance Banks; and three brothers.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Lightways Hospice for the compassionate care they provided during his final days.
