Shavonne Young, age 25, of Country Club Hills, Illinois, passed away on September 20, 2025, at 2:22 p.m. She was born on February 21, 2000, in Maywood to Yvette and Edward Young, and graduated from Tinley Park High School.
Shavonne had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dogs, who brought her endless joy and companionship. She will be remembered for her kindness, her bright spirit, and the love she shared with family and friends.
Shavonne's early years were filled with the love and care of her grandmother, Yvonne Shelton, who nurtured her until she couldn’t take care of her anymore due to her health declining in which she passed away on March 31, 2016. After her grandmother's passing,
Shavonne was lovingly cared for by her aunt and uncle, Donna and Mark Robinson. Shortly after entering high school, Sherri Wilson became a great part of her life as a foster mother. In time, Sherri became not only a guardian but truly "Mom" to Shavonne, offering the unconditional love, support, and guidance that helped shape her into the remarkable young woman she became.
Shavonne graduated from Tinley Park High School. She was known for her radiant smile, her joyful spirit, and the love she had for her dogs.
Shay was a very loving person. When she loved, she loved hard. She would give the shirt off her back to someone in need. In her passing, she continued that spirit of giving as an organ donor, blessing the lives of others with the gift of life. She carried a kind and gentle presence that touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her warmth, strength, and unwavering love.
She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Yvette Young her mother, Sherri her adopted mother; her siblings, Lashunda Young, Melinda Turner, Keana Young-Martin, Robert Young, and Brian Young; her adopted siblings, Alexis Cooper, Bianca Lewis, Alexis Buckner, Solomon Wilson Smith, JaQuez Williams, Melindie Henderson, Tyanna McDonald, Ja'Lesha Powell and Tairen Carter; her special God-sister, Jalen Farr; her boyfriend of over nine years, Joseph Lesure; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will continue to celebrate her life and love.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Yvonne Shelton, who now welcomes her with open arms in heaven.
