Sonja "Trish" L. Underwood

Sonja L. Underwood was born April 27, 1964 in Joliet, Illinois.  She departed this life on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.  Sonja was born to Cornelius Underwood and Mary Louise Underwood.

Sonja was affectionately known as “Trish”  was a graduate of Joliet Township High School and accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Isaac Singleton, Sr. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Joliet, Illinois.

Trish enjoyed entertaining and loved spending time with her family and friends. Trish had gifted hands and a passion for cooking, baking and preparing meals for family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her son, Capeda Jackson, Jr.; mother, Mary Louise Underwood, father, Cornelius Underwood and brothers, Kevin Deon "Pookie" Underwood and Marion Anthony Underwood; maternal grandparents, Houston and Doretha Allen; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Ada Kitty and niece, Sharquece Baker.

She leaves to mourn her passing; her brothers, Larry Howard, Sr. and Cornelius Underwood Jr.; nieces and nephews, Larry Howard, Jr., Mary Underwood, Iisha Dingle, Takya Dingle, Kevin Underwood, Jr., Kaveion Underwoode, Marion Underwood, Jr., Anthony Underwood, Sonya Underwood, Arteshia Moore, Dennishia Moore and 21 great nieces and nephews.

Trish will live on in our hearts and our minds forever.
