Takia Monique Luckett Barrentine, affectionately known as “Peanutt” was born July 29, 1991 in Joliet, Illinois to Joann Barrentine and Remone Luckett.
Takia attended Edna Keith Elementary School, Washington Junior High School and graduated from Joliet Central High School. Takia was a 4.1 average student. She loved reading books, dancing, watching movies and partying. She was a free spirit and very social. Takia loved climbing trees when she was a little girl. She wasn’t afraid of anyone or anything. Takia was the definition of a true warrior, backing down was never an option. Takia mostly enjoyed being around her family, children and the ones that loved on her genuinely. She may have been misunderstood, but as the saying goes “ what’s misunderstood does not need explained,” because her heart was full of love and she had a lot of love to give and she gave out a lot in her Peanutt way.
Takia’s sunset was Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center where she went on to be with the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Williamae Barrentine and Joe Barrentine and her paternal grandfather, Willie J. Luckett.
