Terry G. Jones

Terry Glenn Jones was born May 10, 1960 to Joseph M. Jones Jr. and Rosie Marie Jones in Joliet, Illinois.  He passed away suddenly on Monday, May 13, 2024 in Joliet, Illinois.

He attended Joliet Public Schools and attended Joliet East High School.  At a young age, Terry was able to disassemble things and put them back together again.  He was the neighborhood mechanic and was a tremendous jokester.  His passion was working on cars for his family and friends.

He was married to Tammy Chandler and to this union four children were born, Terrance “TJ” Chandler, Anthony Chandler, Latrice Jones and Brian Jones.  He later welcomed his daughter, Tanisha Logan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph M. Jones Jr. and Rosie M. Jones; one son, Terrance Chandler; two sisters, Marilyn Jones and Theresa Jones; five brothers, Joseph M. Jones III, David E. Jones, Wayne S. Jones, Reynard L. Jones and Lavern S. Jones; maternal and paternal grandparents; nephew, Anthony Coleman; numerous aunts and uncles.

He leaves to cherish his memories; his children, Anthony Chandler, Latrice Jones, Brian Jones and Tanisha Logan; three brothers, Billy Jones, Fred Jones and Russell Jones; two sisters, Marietta Jones and Christina Jones-Lenoir (Melvin Lenoir); 13 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; special friends, Denarius Gregory, Myron “Kirk” Washington, Tony Grant and many others.  He also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Terry will always be remembered and hold a special place in our hearts as the neighborhood mechanic.
