Thelmon Page Obituary

Thelmon Page was born December 16, 1942 in Grenada, Mississippi to John Henry Williams and Willie Mae (nee Trotter) Williams.

Thelmon moved to Joliet, Illinois with her family at a young age and was educated in the Joliet Public School system.

Thelmon accepted Christ as her personal Savior and continued in her faith.  Thelmon was a lifelong member of Mt. Zion Full Gospel Tabernacle Church.  She worked in various ministries, The Women’s Auxiliary, the Usher Board, the Kitchen Committee and the Executive Board. 

During her lifetime, Thelmon worked various places; including Kroehler Furniture, ALuman, Joliet Drapery, Montgomery Ward and as a Home Health Aide.

In the community, Thelmon worked with the Little Miss Black Joliet Pageant, Girl Scouts and the Kingsman Drum Corp.

Thelmon loved to sew and made many pageant, prom, wedding and special occasion dresses.  The also made draperies for family, friends and some businesses.  She was often sought out to make alternations to various articles of clothing.

Thelmon loved to cook and entertain, she hosted many holiday gatherings at her home where she took pride in providing a spread of soul food.

Thelmon departed this life on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, Illinois.

Thelmon is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Williams and Willie Mae Williams; her husband, Eddie Page (November 19, 2020) and her daughter, Veronica Lynn Page; granddaughter, Rica Renee Wolfe; great grandson, Jamel Martin; two brothers, Charles Williams and Ted Williams; three sisters, Betty Burton, Isabelle Rice and Rosa Mae Thompson; and her god-daughter, Stacy Robinson.

Thelmon is survived by her one son, David (Erica) Page of Joliet, IL; two daughters, Belinda Page and Nicole Page, both of Minnesota; one step-daughter, Robyn (William) Ammons; six grandchildren, Niketa Page, Da’Ve (Latesha) Houston, Jason Page, De’Andre Page, Carlitha Wilder and Carmella Wilder; seven great grandchildren, JeVon Page, Janayla Martin, Sadayis Houston, Ja’Niya Wolfe, Aiden Williams, Da’Ve Houston Jr. and Skyla Houston.

She is also survived by three sisters, Leora Jordan, Patricia (Charles) Pickens and Rita Williams; in-laws, Ellistine Yarbrough, Magnolia (Joe) Farmer, Sarah (Albert) Brown, Vivian Buckhanon, Brenda Page, Justina Page, Undra Page, Jerry (Martina) Page and Zeno (Clarice) Page, Easter Page and Lenora Page; god-children, Barry Ware, Vicky Ware, Todd Ware, Anthony Ware, Lori Ware and Allison (Damon) Gant; special and beloved family members, Demetria (Deeda) Thompson, Ashley Thompson, Dennis Page, Michael Page, Nehemiah “Nemo” Hammond, Lucille Tate, Brenda Page, Cynthia Robinson and a host of other relatives and friends.
