Trenasha Sallie was born on June 13, 2000 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet, IL. She was born with Cornelia de Lange syndrome. She fought through many battles due to her condition, but she never gave up.
Trenasha’s smile was as bright as the sun. She brought joy to many people. She taught and inspired everyone she encountered in her life. Trenasha attended the Center for Disability Services (formerly known as United Cerebral Palsy Services) in Joliet for 15 years. She was well known at CDS for her spunky personality (also known to get her way). Trenasha was affectionately known as Nana “Nay-Neezy”.
Trenasha was preceded in death by her brother, Xaiver Sallie; and her maternal grandmother, Brenda Watt.
Trenasha peacefully departed this life on February 20, 2020 with her mother, father and step-father, Damien Hanks by her side.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Katrina (Malak) Watt; father, Trenell (Kilya) Sallie Sr.; brother, Trenell Sallie Jr.; sister, Eriss Easter, special aunts, Gwen Tucker and Beverly Hawley; special uncles, Detori and Eric Watt, Shannon Sallie, and Terry Hester Jr.; paternal grandparents, Linda and Terry Hester; and maternal grandfather, Andrew Kelly.
Trenasha will be missed by many aunts, uncles, godparents, cousins, and friends.
