Valerie Stigler

Valerie Nelson entered into life December 24,1952 in Chicago, Illinois, the eldest daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Nelson.  Valerie was obedient to the Holy Spirit and accepted the invitation to join God’s family and was baptized at Greater Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois.

Valerie attended Whistler and Shoop Elementary Schools in Chicago. She graduated from the greatest high school in Chicago, Morgan Park High School. She worked in the insurance industry for years. She later began her career as a Clerk for the United States Postal Service where she remained until she retired after over 25 years of service.

Valerie met the Love of her life, the late Steven Stigler Sr. and they were joined in Holy Matrimony on June 20,1987. To this union a son was born Steven (Stevie) Jr.

Valerie Stigler loved to take care of children and her beautiful plants. She loved shopping,cooking,and hosting family and friends. She was well loved by family and friends. 

Valerie Stigler entered into the arms of Jesus on June 18, 2024 at 2:55pm. She was preceded in death by her brother, Antoine Nelson.

Valerie leaves to cherish her loving memories: son, Steven (Stevie) Stigler Jr.; step-son, Germonda James; sister, Charlotte Nelson; brother, Darryl Nelson; nieces: Brandy (Charles) Bell, Alexis Givens, Selina Nelson, and Charla Nelson; nephews: Antoine Nelson, Dorian (Sheila) Carter; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and relatives and friends. Her loving dog, Echo C. Stigler.
