Vanessa Daniels

Vanessa "TOOSIE" Daniels, age 63, was born Wednesday, September 7, 1960 in Chicago, Illinois to Sylvia and Andrew Williams. On Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 4:12 P.M. after a long battle with heart complications, Vanessa finally went home with her mother, father, and loved ones.

Growing up on the south side of Chicago, Vanessa attended Jones Commercial where she graduated in 1978. Vanessa moved to Joliet, Illinois in 1992 where she worked as a mold technician at Plainfield Molding in Plainfield Illinois until the plant shut down. Vanessa continued to provide for her kids, working at DHS as a home health aide.

Vanessa loved playing softball, cooking, dancing, and listening to music. She was a loving and caring person; she opened up her home to anyone and always made sure everyone had a plate to eat. With having only two kids, you would have thought she had hundreds if you were at her house, with everyone calling her mama or TT.

Vanessa was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Sylvia and Andrew Williams; brother, Johnnie Harper; and favorite aunt, Christine Harper Johnson. She is survived by her two loving children, Sylvia Daniels and Andrew (Precious) Griggley; her sister, Gloria Harper; brother, Anthony Williams; grandkids, Jayla Savanna Harvey, Andrew, Ama'ree, Alexis, and Adrian Griggley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and hundreds of kids that called her mama.
