Walter Lee Robinson was born June 9, 1936, in Egremont, Mississippi to Walter Sr. and Carrie Robinson. He was called to rest on April 6, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Walter has been a resident of Joliet over 60 years. Walter believed in God and would share when asked. Walter worker at Caterpillar Tractor Company for 30 years in Joliet and retired back in the early 90’s. He was a member of the Elks Fort Erie Lodge #167 of Joliet for over 50 years and served in many capacities. He was a coach for the of the Elks Lodge softball team back in the 1970’s. Walter loved his family and would travel to see them as often as he could. He enjoyed family and was surrounded by family during his short illness.
Walter is preceded in death by (1) daughter Jenna V, and (2) sons Calvin, Bernard, (1) grandson Antiwan, (1) granddaughter Ashton, (4) brothers John, Ed, Burnell, and Robert Robinson, (4) sisters, Margarette, Ethel Lee, Willie Mae, and Eva Mae Robinson; and ex-wife Julia (Nen) Green.
Walter leaves to cherish his loving memories; (1) daughter, Joanne Tyler; (2) sons, Thomas Robinson and Ali Robinson; (1) sister, Rhom Mae Hancock; (6) grandchildren, Tonya (Terrance) Bew, Cortney, Shawn, Junair, Curtis, and Cordarrius, (18) great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Special friends Lorrine, Theresa, Gloria and special thank you to his niece, Barbara Christopher and nephew, Frank Johnson for all time they took to care for Uncle Walt.
Shawn thank you for all you done to take care of your grandfather. I know that he is proud of each of you. Thanks to Lightways Hospice the doctors and the nurses that cared for him, and family you done an amazing job.
