William Lee Eskridge

William Lee Eskridge was born July 19, 1952 to Verne and Luiza Eskridge in Joliet, IL. William was known around the city as “Hunt”. He attended Lockport township schools and finished his education in the United States Army where he enlisted in 1971, serving as a LT. Weapons Infantryman, he was honorably discharged in 1977.

William was a general laborer at Desoto for 15 plus years. He loved to go fishing every opportunity he got. He had a passion for music and dancing and was always the life of the party with his moves, jokes, and smart remarks.

William is preceded in death by his father and mother, Verne and Luiza Eskridge; one grandson, Sam Fort; three siblings, Mary Eskridge-Gant, Larry Eskridge, and Darnell Eskridge.

William passed away peacefully in his home on September 19, 2024. He leaves behind three children, Pedro Wise of Detroit, MI; Serena (Pierre) Davis of Lincoln, NE; and Tiffany (Romell) Williams of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Tyshon Carr and Torey Sneed, both of Indianapolis, IN; five siblings, Diane Sims (Eddie Lee), Pamela Freeman Gorman (Eugene/Chuck), Verne Eskridge Jr., Anthony Eskridge, and Syrenthia Eskridge; five uncles, four aunts, and a numerous number of nieces and nephews.
