William Henry Edwards was born on April 12, 1952 in Joliet, Illinois.  He went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.  William accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.  He attended Joliet Public Schools and Joliet Central High School (Class of 1971).  William worked at Stateville Correctional Center for several years; after working at Stateville, William went on to work for Griers Electronics until retirement age.

After retirement, William’s goal was to venture out and become an Entrepreneur.  William teamed up with his nephew, Kevin Evans.  Kevin and William became very successful in become Entrepreneurs.  The majority of their assignments were working for the elderly senior citizens and under-privileged individuals. There was nothing they could not do and do it well!  From the top of the roof to below the basement floor. William also worked faithfully with the Second Baptist Church Food Pantry. 

William was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Edwards Jr. and mother, Katie L. Duncan Edwards; maternal grandparents, Sidney Edwards Sr. and Mary L. Alexander Edwards; paternal grandparents, Edward Duncan Sr. and Laura Thomas Duncan; one sister, Kathy A. Faith McCullan; one granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Tucker.

William is survived by three children, Vanita Robinson, Terrence Shaw and William Traylor; his siblings, Sidneyetta Bew, Sidney Edwards III, Macio A. Edwards and Coleen P. Bailey; family matriarchs, Edie-Middleton Beacon and Edward Duncan Jr.; special first cousin, Mavourneen (Blake) Loveless; significant friend, Ms. Christine Brand; special friend, first cousins, Willie Turner; nephew, Kevin Evans and James Culpepper; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
