Willie Vincent Dowell was born February 14,1934 to Andrew and Hattie Dowell in Caruthersville, MO. He was the fifth of six children.
Willie was united in holy matrimony to Pinky Robinson and later to Deloris Harris.
Wille accepted Christ at an early age at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Caruthersville, MO. He later became a member of Lilydale Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, where he remained a member for many years.
Willie graduated from Hayti Central High School in Hayti, MO. He also attended barber school and cut hair for the men in the community. Willie loved to cook, and his admiration inspired him to become an entrepreneur and the owner of his very own food truck.
Willie enlisted in the United States Army in October 1956, serving as a combat veteran in the Korean War. Willie was discharged from the service to his country with dignity and honor.
Willie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who loved his family with his entire being.
Willie was preceded in death by his mother, Hattie, and father, Andrew; one daughter, Loretta Faye, three siblings; Wilbert, Irene, and Henry
Willie leaves to cherish his memories; two sons, Brian Hinton, Kennard Brown; one daughter, Yvonne Jones, one granddaughter, Brittany Collins; one stepdaughter, Toria Harris; two step-granddaughters, Ja’Recia and Ja’Shonna; two sisters, Allene Brown and Blanche Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
