Willie James Terry was born December 21, 1962 to Wille James McGee and Annie Terry in Omaha, Nebraska. He departed this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Amita Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, Illinois.
Willie moved to Joliet, Illinois as a child and attended Joliet Public Schools and graduated from Joliet Central High School. Willie enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family and friends.
He was employed as a Forklift Driver for many years and also worked for a period of time as a cook. Willie prided himself in dressing, he was very fashionable and always matched from head to toe.
Willie confessed his hope in Christ at God’s Gathering Place under the leadership of Apostle George R. Kimbrough. He also served for a short time as armor bearer for his Apostle. He loved attending church and praising the Lord.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to his childhood friend, Victoria Byrd on May 15, 2010. They enjoyed a courtship of three years prior to their marriage. They enjoyed shopping sprees together, dancing and just laughing and having a good time. Willie showered his wife every week with roses. He gifted her with diamond rings and jewelry each year after their marriage.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie James McGee and Annie Terry; two brothers, Willie McGee and Larry Terry; sister, Mary Dumas and one niece, Joyce Jackson; and nephew, Ronnie Fort.
Willie leaves in the hands of Almighty God, his loving and devoted wife, Victoria Byrd; children, Jamilah Terry, Taliah Terry, Ezekiel Terry, Ashanti Terry, Amari Isby, Arkael Isby and Bobbie Holmes; two step-children, Gregory Lee and James Abraham; two sisters, Ella Terry and Theresa Terry-Simpson; special nephews, Jermaine Terry, John Wayne Lindsey; special niece, Davisha Springer; ten grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special cousin, Joanne Barrintine. He also leaves his special friend, Mark Bew and his extended Bew family.
