Yvonne Jamison

Yvonne Jamison, affectionately known as Ms. Vonn, was born on January 13, 1957, to Marshall V. Autman and John Jamison in Joliet, IL. Yvonne departed this life, Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Yvonne accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Mt. Ebal Missionary Baptist Church. She graduated from Lockport High School in 1975. 

Yvonne was a strong and independent woman who liked being home with her family. Yvonne fluently knew her way around the kitchen. She was a fashionista and loved her jewelry; Yvonne was also a trendsetter before her time. One would often catch Yvonne at a local yard sale, listening to her music, or even sewing.  

Yvonne was a paraprofessional with the Joliet School District 86, where she rendered over 34 years of service to the Farragut Elementary School family. Yvonne also served as the Camp Director for the Greater Joliet YMCA for 24 years. She had a great passion and love for working with children. Yvonne also was a caregiver at Trinity Homes for over a decade. 

Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories her loving children, Aisha Z. Jamison, DeOntre S. Sanders, and Diamond Jamison; two grandchildren, Jasoni Guyton and Azhir Waddell; her loving husband, Phillip Sanders; her mother, Marshall Autman; three siblings, Tekella Rounds, Billy Ray Hayes and Bakari Autman; special relatives and friends, Diane Stephens, Betty Andrews, and Venita April. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
