Za'shawn J. Helm-Jefferson

Za’Shawn was born December 16, 2005 to Takiyah Jefferson and Mark Thomas Jr. of Joliet IL. He was a fun and loving child. He enjoyed life and was big on family. Filled with love and vision. He aspired to be a gamer and enjoyed playing the game with his brother and cousins. He had dreams of making it in the gaming world and taking care of his family. Filled with life our loving boy unfortunately transitioned to be with the Lord on April 10 , 2023. 

Za’Shawn was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willie Earl Jefferson; his great aunt, Rose Currie; his uncle, Donte R. Campbell; his cousins, Lee Barfield, Aisha Walker, Delores Jefferson, and Treveal Barefield.

In his memory he leaves to cherish a loving mother, Takiyah (Derrick Rose); his biological father, Mark Thomas Jr. and his Pops, Carlos Sims.  His brothers, Darvell Jennings, and Tayvion and Amaree Thomas; sisters, Taniyah Givan, Camahni, Camari and Carlie Sims. Grandmothers, Juanita Campbell and Tina McGaughy; grandfather, Mark Thomas Sr. Uncles, Elijah Barfield Deandre, Levelle (Octavia)Barfield, Dontea Thomas, Clark Jr (Talline) of Memphis TN and Xavier Travis; aunts, Annette Mathis, Levedia Barfield, Latonya Campbell and Ivanna Travis; niece, Nia Dawson and nephew, D’Shawn Pierce Jr.; special cousins, Jeremiah, Kamyah, Lavelle, AJ, Veah; a special friend, Joshua and a host of other relatives and friends.
