On the 2nd day of April 2018, Michael Jermaine Hollins “also known as” Lil’ Beno, was called from Grace to Glory. He was the fourth child born to the union of Willie Ed Hollins and Frankie Mae Tyler on December 23, 1975 in Joliet, Illinois. Michael lived in Joliet all of his life and held many positions in Ware-house Distribution and Supply Chain Management. One of his fondest activi-ties was volunteering with the Salvation Army ringing the kettle bell during the holiday season. He was so proud and delighted to turn in a full kettle at the end of his shift. This was Michael’s way of giving back and paying it for-ward. It was also an outlet for him to meet, greet and humor others. Michael never met a stranger. In fact, he was a great judge of character and you knew if he didn’t like you. But if he did, all bets were off and you suddenly became new material for his amateur comedy acts. He had a zeal for life and was a very outgoing, lovable and all around jovial person. Michael had a heart of gold and would share his last with you. He took pride in making others laugh. He loved to fish, play spades, dominoes, and shoot pool. He often beat his older brother on many occasions. Michael confessed the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and had a per-sonal relationship with God. Michael was preceded in death by his parents (Willie and Frankie), his sister Carolyn, his paternal and maternal grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dearest friends. Michael was special to us and leaves many to cherish and celebrate his life. Among those are his loving daughters; Destiny Latrice Hollins (Lindenwood University, Belleville, IL) and Myona Joleis Hollins (Indianapolis, IN); his fiancé Krista Waddell; brother Vincent E. Hollins (Joliet, IL); two sisters Renee Hollins Kelly (Keith) of Huntsville, AL and Carla Michelle Hollins (Clarence) of Joliet, IL; a special aunt Danette Hilliard-Reed (Madison, WI; that he thought was his sister); a step brother Reginald Dobson and three step-sisters Aneesha Dobson, Ann and Vette Abbott. In addition, he leaves two nieces Owida and Chene McCarter (Joliet, IL); and two nephews Jeffery Kelly (Jacksonville, FL) and Geonte Roberts (Selma, IN) as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Michael had a saying, you can’t always choose the cards you’re dealt, you just have to play the hand.” He also said, God doesn’t like ugly and He’s not too keen on cute.” Mike, your handsome face and friendly gestures will live forever in our hearts and minds until the end of time. He will be truly missed. We Love You Mikey; you will always be our Super-Stud!
