Mary Jean Morrow was born in Fayette County, Tennessee to the union of James Thomas Morrow and Salle Mae Morrow on April 4, 1952.  Mary was the second of five children born to this union. She passed away on December 6, 2017.


Mary received her education in the Joliet Township School District. She was employed at Will County Sunny Hill Nursing Home in the Rehabilitation Department until her retirement in February, 2009.


Mary was the proud mother of two children; one daughter, Tina Louise Pierce and one son, Christopher Michael Pierce.  During her years in Joliet, Illinois, she fellowshipped at Redeem C.O.G.I.C. and became a member of Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the pastorate of Pastor Autry Perry, Sr. and served faithfully under the current pastor, Elder Clyde Moore.  Mary affectionately called Missionary Pierce was a saved, sanctified, Holy Ghost filled woman, who served God, then his people with love and kindness.  She was always doing giving of herself for the pastor and the church.


She was preceded in death by her father (2005) and mother (2008); grandmother “Big Mama”, Amelia Ferguson (1994); nephew, T.J. Morrow (2009), one aunt, and two uncles.


She leaves to cherish her memories; one daughter, Tina Louise (Ernest) Moore, Jr. of Covington, PA; one son, Christopher Michael Pierce of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren; Tranice, Marisa, Christopher, Cornelius IV, Montel, Tyreke, Gabrielle, Anthony and Christopher Jr.; eleven great grandchildren; two brothers, T.J. Morrow of Ohio, William E. Morrow of Joliet, IL  two sisters, Ruth Ann Kincy (Percy) and Peggy Williams, both of South Bend, IN; one aunt, Ida Mae Anderson (James) of Memphis, TN and a host of nieces, nephews; god-children, Citadel, COGIC members (Indiana) and her Holy Temple Church family.
